LOVE over FEAR

Fear is real. Fear serves us well … at times. When the tiger is chasing you and you need to get to safety or you will be eaten, fear is your friend. When you live in a chronic state of fear (finances, health, relationships, self-esteem, etc), fear is a detriment to your physical and mental/emotional health.
Being aware of your emotions is one of your greatest gifts. They are your guidance system. When you feel positive emotions, you are in alignment. When you feel what we consider negative or low vibration emotions, you are most likely out of alignment. It’s not that they are good or bad, they just are. When you are aware, you can make choices to try to change the things that are in your control.
One of the biggest challenges is that we are continually being sold FEAR via the news and media. For this reason, I stopped following the news in 1994. I should back track, I actually stopped watching the news at that time because I moved to Japan (and this was pre-internet life). I could read the newspaper, which I glanced at occasionally, but major at headlines rather than articles. I believe it’s great to be informed but so not necessary to be inundated with the negativity.
Things you can do to ‘turn off the fear’ (or even just turn it down):
- Turn off the news
- Question what you read/hear (‘consider the source’ is one of my favorite phrases)
- Practice mindfulness or meditation
- Use affirmations or mantras
- Know that you are a powerful creator
- Shift your mindset
- Spend more time in nature (water is especially healing/grounding)
My personal mission in this world is to have fun and do good (and, of course, lifelong learning!). By focusing on the good and positive, I am spreading more LIGHT and LOVE into the world … something we could all use more of. The mission of The Holistic Shabang is to inform and inspire women to reach their optimal health so that they can go out into the world and shine their lights … leaving us with an amazing ripple effect!!
I believe that if we were all connected to our true/authentic selves even more, there would be more love, light and joy in this world. We wouldn’t have so many people feeding into the fear of coronavirus, politicians, the economy or whatever the big offender is in your world at the moment.
How many articles, news reports have you read in the last month or so that focus on the simple things you can do to boost your immune system? Probably not too many, though I have noticed a recent increase. BECAUSE, they aren’t based on ‘fear’, which doesn’t sell nearly as many stories as does anything fear related.
I’m not suggesting that we should go out and be reckless. This strain of coronavirus is strong and highly contagious. We do need to be aware and careful, but from the perspective of being part of the solution and not part of the problem. Choose to NOT go out so you can be part of the solution (not spreading the virus) as opposed to fear of getting it.
Fear causes stress, which is one of the BIGGEST contributors to health problems. The more you stress about coronavirus (or anything) the more you increase your chances of depleting your immune system. Not only that, but you will also be more aligned to attract the very thing that you fear.
I invite you to notice when you might be in fear. In the beginning, it can be very challenging to notice because we have been so programmed to live this way. These questions are prime examples, but it can be in any area of your life (career, relationships, finances, etc).
Do you want to try to be healthy so that you have amazing energy and feel good about yourself OR do you want to be healthy so that you don’t get cancer, coronavirus or some other disease? Do you see the difference?
Do you believe that if you get sick you must run to the doctor and get some medicine/pharmaceuticals OR do you believe in the body’s innate ability to heal itself? When I tell people that the last time I went to the doctor (I’m referring to an M.D.) was in 2001 when my daughter was born, they are often shocked. Before that it was probably some time in the early 90s when I was living in Chicago and working in the bank (still fully in ‘the matrix’).
When I’m not feeling well, I listen to my body, use food as medicine, jump into the ocean, use essential oils, etc. There are SOOO many possibilities provided for us in nature. I’m also NOT suggested to stop going to your doctor. I do visit natural healers when needed.
Enjoy this exploration and what you can learn about yourself and your world in the process. Challenge yourself to find more love and come from a place of love more often!
