The 5 Pillars of Health
You have to make countless decisions throughout the day. Whether it’s what to have for breakfast, what to wear that day (can I get a YES for jammy days?) or how to handle an issue at work, with the kids or your partner. The challenge really kicks in when you’ve had to make TOO MANY decisions in a day … you get DECISION FATIGUE. Literally your brain struggles to make ‘good choices’ or decisions after you’ve made so many.
For this reason, I am a HUGE fan of creating healthy HABITS, which help to eliminate decision fatigue. Have you ever noticed how it’s so much easier to make healthy/’good’ decisions in the morning and maybe even at lunch time? Often decision fatigue comes in the afternoon or evening. Think late night snacking, dinners that you might feel ‘guilty’ about or too much wine?
What I’d like to introduce today is my 5 Pillars of Health. This is really the FOUNDATION of your health. As you all know, the foundation to your house is KEY. Without this, you wouldn’t even consider building a house, right? You want to create the same thing with your health. Starting with the BASICS, which include:
- Mindset
- Sleep
- Hydration
- Nourishment
- Movement
I know that these are very broad categories and know that there is MORE to health, but these are the building blocks to establishing a baseline of good health. If you’re just getting started, we go slow and master the basics of each area. If you’re already somewhat healthy, we can take your health to the next level. Do you have ONE of these categories mastered? Maybe you need to work on them all? It doesn’t matter where you start … you are where you are and can only move forward from that point.
Now is the PERFECT time to CHOOSE to commit to a healthier way of life. There is NO guarantee that this will save you from getting Corona or any other disease. But it will do so many other things, including reducing decision fatigue. You will most likely feel good about yourself/have more confidence, you will shed unwanted pounds if that’s needed, you will most likely build muscle, you will sleep better and have more energy. You will SHINE!
