Trust

Do you trust that every day the sun will rise? Of course! You may not actually SEE it if it’s cloudy out, but the sun is still there.
Do you trust that nature is abundant and self-regulating? Hopefully! Mother nature is one of our wisest teachers and healers. We, as humans, have certainly challenged and tested nature but she also has her own patterns and phases like everything in life.
What about people? This can be a little more challenging, right? We are beautifully and perfectly flawed as humans. My belief is that if we all had more time in nature, there would be more integrity, connection and trust. We are all a work in progress and there are so many factors involved. We can start with nature vs nuture and then add to that life experiences and perspective. Of course, this is a hugely simplified summary, but you know what I’m talking about.
We also have some people that are actively engaged in self-growth development while others are not. There is absolutely NO judgement in any of this, just an observation of where we all uniquely are.
I can tell you that as a single woman traveling around the world, I am trusting but also deeply listening to my intuition. I can tell you that every time I override my intuition … trouble ensues. I also have the expectation that everything will work out and that the people I encounter are there to add value to my life. What you think about, you bring about. Look for the good and get more good. Look for the bad and you’ll most likely find it.
I can also say that after spending at least a decade living/traveling around the world, I’ve had ONE incidence of being robbed. This is the only time I’ve experienced any significant problem overseas. It was also at the crack of dawn so I wasn’t putting into place my normal precautions. Ironically, I was THRILLED to have my small backpack taken without me knowing it. I was traveling in South America and had had visions of an armed robbery before arriving (note to comments in the last paragraph). In the end, being robbed without knowing it was just fine with me.
We also just come wired differently when it comes to trust. I am more open and will trust people until they show me otherwise. Whereas I know there are many people who are just the opposite, trust must be earned. A person will need to prove themselves before any trust will be established. Of course, life experiences will add to your ability to trust others or not.
I don’t believe that there is a right or wrong here. I’m not giving these examples to blame or shame, but to give you the chance to reflect on who you are and where you might be. Are you trusting by nature or do others need to earn your trust? Do others trust you?
Trust means you’re open and vulnerable and letting people and things in as well. When you’re in the flow of trust, you will see all kinds of beauty and good around you: people, places, experiences and even more money. I believe that more trust is one of the key ingredients we need if we’re really going to set this planet and our lives on a new path or direction. If we, the human race, want to thrive, we need to trust each other more and work together.
Just as I trust that the sun will rise every morning, I trust that it will set every day. There is beauty all around us, even in the simple things. I trust that you will start looking for it around every corner.
